Innovate UK Project Paves the Way to Diversification
Farmex is leading an IUK funded project involving the University of Cambridge, Applied Group, CampdenBRI and Dicam Technology Ltd. The aim is to develop a cost-effective on farm sensing system to measure bacterial activity. Existing remote data capture and access systems are being adapted for this purpose. The projectwill need to undertake field trials of the system next year so this means that Farmex will be providing Monitor Only systems for poultry sheds to capture data from the new sensor as well as other inputs such as water use , air temperature and humidity. This represents a major diversification opportunity from the point of view of hardware supply and may also lead to wider collaboration on the provision of data services in the UK poultry and pig sectors and beyond.
